In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UCAS application deadline has been extended by two weeks and students now have until 18:00 on January 29th to apply for most undergraduate courses, this is just a few short days away. With everything that is going on at the moment, you may not have had the time to start drafting that winning personal statement; as students find every year, the deadline may suddenly have looked a lot closer after Christmas than it did before. If so, you’re not alone – UCAS is expecting a record-level of last-minute applications this year. At Oxbridge Personal Statements, we offer a comprehensive statement writing and editing service for all universities. With our next day and three-day services, you can receive a carefully composed and exceptional model personal statement that is tailored to your needs and experience before the UCAS deadline this Friday.

Will You be Disadvantaged for Submitting Your Application Late?

All students who submit their applications before the 29th January closing date, whether it be last autumn or five minutes before the deadline, should be considered equally. Therefore, you will not be disadvantaged for applying closer to the deadline. There are even some advantages to submitting your application later in the season as it allows you more time to build an impressive portfolio of relevant experience. There is every reason to build a remarkable personal statement this week that is a cut above your fellow applicants’.

Why is it Important to Submit a Good Personal Statement?

It is vital to submit a high-quality statement as it offers the opportunity to supplement your grades and academic reference with a personal account of why you want to study the course, what drives you and why you would be a suitable candidate. These core elements can sway an application team’s decision when selecting their university’s future alumni. Many applicants may have achieved the grades necessary to progress onto the course, but the personal statement helps secure you a place by showcasing your experience, achievements, aspirations and personality in the best possible light. This is particularly necessary for more competitive courses and universities.

What Happens if You Miss the Deadline?

If you miss the deadline, don’t panic. You can still submit your application to your chosen universities through UCAS up until 18:00 on June 30th, 2021. However, any late applications will be considered after those that have come in before the January deadline- your application will not be guaranteed equal deliberation. Nevertheless, many students every year receive university places this way and any applications taken after the June deadline will automatically be put into clearing.

Whether you need a bespoke, new personal statement that is written from scratch or an edit of an existing draft, we‘re here to help. There is still time to craft 4,000 characters of outstanding content before the Friday deadline, even if you haven’t yet got any words on paper. If you have any questions or would like to find out more about our services, then please get in touch. We also have a 20% sale running at the moment on all UCAS orders, meaning that it is more financially feasible than ever to secure a model personal statement that will help you stand out from the crowd.
